Fun, Interesting and Odd Facts About Me You Might Not Know

I’m the oldest of my siblings.

I have authority issues and hate to be told what to do, (even if it’s me telling me what to do).

I’m bossy.

I’m a contradiction. (See previous two statements as an example.)

I love disaster films like The Towering Inferno, Airport, Earthquake, The Day After Tomorrow.

I have an uncanny ability for voice recognition, meaning I can recognize someone’s voice even if I haven’t heard it in years, or have only heard it a few times.

Most of my favorite actors were well past their prime by the time I was born.

I’m a pretty good handicapper and have an eye for spotting ‘live’ horses.

I rarely traveled 25-miles beyond my home until my mid-thirties.

I’m a Libra married to an Aquarius.

I never drank wine or coffee until about five years ago.

My most boring job – cashier at a grocery store.

My worst job – working in a meat packing and processing plant.

I love potatoes and eat them every day in some form or another.

I like bright colors, I mean really bright colors. (My husband no longer allows me to pick out paint.)

I collect sea turtles (not living ones :) ).

One thing I’ve always wanted, but still don’t have…a tattoo.

I have a motorcycle license and once owned a metallic blue Honda Rebel.

I’ve worn glasses since I was five-years-old.

My favorite tea is Old World English Breakfast Tea.

I cry easily.

I have a tendency to snort when I laugh really hard.

I always wanted a home with a fireplace.

I was homeless once, (not for long and not an experience I want to repeat).

I swallowed a fly once. (It taught me to keep my mouth closed while riding my motorcycle.)

I have a calcium deposit in my front tooth that looks like a guardian angel.

I talk loud and I get louder the more excited I get.

In grammar school I had to take speech class because I had problems with the letter ‘R’.

I wrote my first book when I was seven-years-old.

I still have my Planet of the Apes action figures and Forbidden City play set from when I was a kid.

I don’t like dolls or clowns.

I spent a good part of my junior and senior high school years in in-school-suspension (authority issues again).

I’ve been a vegetarian since August 1999.

My favorite vegetable – asparagus.

I love rainy days and thunder storms.

I built my first car, a 1974 Ford Maverick. My grandfather gave it to me. The engine was in the trunk and the transmission was in the backseat. My uncle helped me rebuild it.

    I’m catching up on my Google reader page – just read this. Now I know why we like each other even though we are vastly different in many ways – I rebuilt an MG engine and trannie about 10 years ago! A couple of mechanical geeks – that’s what we are! :)

    Here’s one about me: I’m forty-four and have no plans to ever drink or even taste alcohol or coffee.
