I’ve been spending the last two weeks reviewing my 2010 goals and looking at my business, where I’ve succeeded, where I’ve failed and where I want to go from here.
I’ve been setting some new goals and intentions for the remaining months of 2010, as well as, 2011 and beyond.
And, I’m dreaming BIG!
Today I want to share with you the three step process I go through when I’m ‘dream building’.
Step 1: Journaling.
When I journal during this process I ask questions, sit with the questions, answer questions, brainstorm ideas, think out loud on paper and I do not censor my thoughts, words or ideas as I write. I pretty much carry my journal or a small notebook wherever I go.
Step 2: Planning and breaking it down.
Plans don’t always work out like I expect them to or want them to, but the process of planning, of breaking my ideas down (ideas I generated during the journaling phase) into smaller goals, action steps and to-do lists help give me clarity and helps keep me moving forward.
Step 3: Connecting and collaborating.
This third step in my dream building process is relatively new for me. It has only been in the last five years that I have started to reach out to others, to ask for help and to work with others. Whether it has been formally working with an accountability partner, a mastermind, a therapist, counselor or coach or informally in the form of friendships and collaborations, these connections have helped me jumpstart and take leaps I never even dreamed were possible.
One more thing I do during this process and year round is read for information and inspiration. Reading grounds and centers me so that I can keep going. You can check out my current reading list HERE.
If you would like to engage in a bit of dream building of your own maybe I can help.
