Mother’s Day

Mom’s are special. There’s no way around it, they just are.

I know that not everyone has a great relationship with their Mom and not all Mom’s are ‘mom’ material, but if you remember they are just people, like us, doing their best, you will begin to see what’s special about them.

I’ve had my ups and downs with my Mom over the years and most of the time, even today, we don’t see eye to eye, but that’s okay. I love her and she loves me.

Here’s a picture of my Mom. It’s her high school graduation picture. I think she’s beautiful, although she likes to argue that fact with me. (She’s also probably kill me if she knew I posted her picture on the internet, so, keep this between you and me.)

A short story…

My Mom graduated in June 1964 and at a local Christmas dance six months later she met my Dad. They fell in love and two weeks after Christmas he asked her to marry him. My Mom turned nineteen a week later and they were married eight days later. Nine months later I arrived. They were happily married for thirty-two years before my Dad passed away in 1997.

Happy Mother’s to my Mom and every Mom who read this.
