James Oliver: Teach Every Child About Food

I posted this all over Twitter and Facebook yesterday. But, the message is so important I have to share it again.

This is the most powerful & impassioned speech I’ve ever heard about food. It was given by James Oliver at the TedTalks.

James Oliver won the 2010 Ted Prize with his wish to “Teach Every Child About Food”.

The stories he tells will touch your heart. I had to stop watching this video several times because I was crying so hard. He delivers a powerful message and calls for a food revolution. I agree.

Watch it now if you haven’t already.

I love Food Revolution, I feel bad for the ignorance he is up against. The people are not deep in laziness and just do not care. I feel bad for these kids, it is not there fault they are overweight and so very unaware.

Our family eats only fresh,,our daughter is RAW..they learned from early toddler age to make healthy snacks and meals..We have always cooked together and talked while doing it..A lot of wonderful converation happens during the carrot peeling..or dicing cucumber.
Our family rule: if a packaged item has more than 5 ingredients..put it back on the shelf..
if the item has wordss you can’t respell immediately or pronounce put it back on the shelf..Shop only at stores thaat the majority aisles aer NOT packaged cereals: Cereals are not a food group…
We never made “special children’s food” for our children…We will be moving back to LA soon and I would like to participate in this program for teaching children in the school system.
Our family has been in the Restaurant and Catering for over 38 years..We are passionate about this… Thank you Jamie….lets steam roll this…..

This is something I am so passionate about as well. I look forward to the day when children know that food comes from the ground, not from the store.

This is the most inspiring, important, and clear message I’ve heard in a long time. We need to broadcast this EVERYWHERE! This needs to be seen on the front page and on commercials across the nation. This is the beginning of real change – real change that every one of us can support.
