Continuing with this weeks theme of ‘trying something new‘ and ‘firsts‘…
Buying books is not something new for me, but these books are new and I am looking forward to some quiet time this weekend to just read and relax. It feels like forever since I had a reading weekend, but I am shooting for one this week.
Will you join me?
(I cheated. I already started.)
New books for a weekend of reading…

All Marketers Are Liars: The Power of Telling Authentic Stories in a Low-Trust World by Seth Godin
This is only the second Seth Godin book I ever bought. The first one was The Dip. I bought it when it first came out because everyone was talking about what a marketing and business genius Seth was. But, honestly I was very disappointed in this book and did not like it all. It kind of turned me of Seth for awhile. That is, until I decided to read his blog and then sign up to have his blog emailed to me everyday. Three out of every four posts (and they are usually very short) strike a chord and make me think. So I became a Seth Godin fan and decided to give his books another shot. So far, I am on page 35 of 176 and I am enjoying his perspective on marketing and storytelling.

The Fearless Fish Out of Water: How to Succeed When You’re the Only One Like You
by Robin Fisher Roffer
I often feel like a fish out of water, like I don’t fit in. This book caught my eye and I am curious about the author’s ideas on this subject.
The Story Factor (2nd Revised Edition)by Annette Simmons
I really want to discover more about how to tell stories in ways that inspire, motivate and educate others. I think this book will fill that need.

The Story Factor is one of the most treasured books on my shelf. I haven’t read the others, but may need to check them out.
