Freedom Will Be Mine

I have been walking and working in two worlds for months now.

Part of me struggles every day to make a meaningful contribution in a world that neither cares nor respect me for that choice. But, at the end of the day, I care that I made that choice.

Another part of me soars with eagles and dances in the clouds, experiencing a freedom of spirit I once could only imagine. I suspected it, dreamed about it, but was always to afraid to reach out for it. Now that I have, I never want to walk on the ground again.

So, where does that leave me?

The chain that binds me during the daylight hours to the ground, to a job that deadens my spirit, is slowly, steadily being pulled from its’ concrete footing.

The wind calls me. I hear her everyday. She wakes me before dawn and invites me to play. She comforts me in the evening when I am too tired to write or think.

I don’t believe it will be long now before I break free and grasp the tail of the wind, to soar all day through the heavens and live free.

I play in this world part-time now, but soon I will live and play there full-time.

Freedom will be mine.

This was a great piece…alot of feeling and I don’t think I could have described in with so much feeling. “The chain that binds me during the daylight hours to the ground, to a job that deadens my spirit, is slowly, steadily being pulled from its’ concrete footing.” I imagined an eagle/huge bird tied to the ground…and as it keeps trying to fly away the post it’s tied to get loose…and eventually with a final tug…………….:)

Your response overwhelmed me and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for both taking the time to write and for what you said. It means a lot to me.

I think while alot of what you say may be true, there are a large number of people thathave the utmost respect and admiration for you. They realize the selfless contributions you have made and continue to make on a daily basis. I see a constantly changing landscape where free thought and the pursuit of an opportunity to get better at what you do are somewhat frowned upon if they dont meet a certain mold. That is definitely not the place for a thirsty mind constantly looking to grow and evolve, but dont sell yourself short, when the day comes for you to grab on to the tail of that gust of wind, you will have left some very large footprints for others to follow and pursue
