I am traveling to Denver, Colorado today to attend Barbara Winter’s ‘Making a Living Without a Job’ and ‘Establish Yourself as an Expert’ workshops.
I am traveling very light. Something new for me. I am not even taking my laptop.
I will not be completely free of technology though. I am traveling with my iPod and my Amazon Kindle.
I will also have one ‘real’ book, The Art of Possibility: Transforming Professional and Personal Life
Due to my travel schedule and the fact that I will not have my laptop, there will be no post on Saturday and you will probably find The Dreaming Cafe’s newsletter in your inbox Monday morning versus Sunday morning this week.
But, you may be thinking, “traveling today doesn’t explain the short posts / quotes all week. What’s going on?” There were no meandering thoughts, no poems, no videos, no stories and Book Review Thursday was missing a book review. Just a few brief ideas to keep us connected.
Well, I’m not really sure I can explain “what’s going on?”
But, I can share with you that I experienced an unusual event last weekend that put me in a place where I need to step back a little and spend some time alone with myself.
I am still in that place now.
This ‘different kind of week’ at The Dreaming Cafe will probably be extended beyond this week. Since this site is an extension of who I am, as I grow and change, so will it.
I see some new things happening, but I just need some time to clarify them first.

It’s a good thing to step back now and then. That quiet reflection time is something like stretching. Without it, your mind, like a muscle, can become stiff and limited in range of motion.
