In the past when I told people I didn’t really listen to music, they looked at me as if I was from Mars. For a long time I didn’t even have an antennae on my car because I never turned on the radio. I am a little embarrassed to admit that I don’t even have a radio, CD player or stereo system in my home.
It’s not that I don’t like music. I do. I love all kinds of music. Classical, hip-hop, rock, folk. It’s just that really good music strikes a very emotional cord in me and effects me deeply. Sometimes it makes me cry.
I realize now, that that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Things are changing. With the internet, friends who are passionate about music and my new iPod I am slowly delving into the world of music and exploring how it relates to my creativity.
The Dreaming Cafe’s weekly message tomorrow is actually devoted to this topic, in a article entitled “Music & Creativity: Are they hard-coded in our DNA?”
In the meantime, I’d like to share a little of what I’ve discovered during this exploration…
